Have you ever wondered if there are any secret Windows 7 features? Most games have a godmode, something that will enable all cheats and features. Windows 7 too. This is going to be a brief tutorial that will allow you to enable the secret godmode in Windows 7.

Here's how to set it up:

• Create a new folder on the Windows desktop (Right-click > New > Folder).

• Rename the folder: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

If you've done it right, the folder icon will change to that of the Control Panel.

Double-click on it to see dozens of tweak categories, each with commands for changing many aspects of Windows 7's behavior. It initially appears in the Details view - I recommend changing it to Tiles view.

The back half of that mysterious shortcut is actually a globally unique identifier (GUID) that points to a shell folder, in this case Control Panel. The segment at the beginning can be whatever text you want it to be. The resulting list simply opens Control Panel in Windows Explorer, displaying all available tasks and allowing you to group them using standard Explorer techniques. Way back in Windows XP Inside Out we wrote about techniques for creating shell folder views in Explorer using GUIDs; we dropped that coverage in Windows Vista Inside Out and Windows 7 Inside Out because there were other, more useful tasks to explain in our Explorer chapters.

All of the tasks in the "God Mode" list are already available in Control Panel. There is not a single new or hidden tweak here. Many of them are listed under the different category headings there. Some of the specific task links appear only in response to a search for a specific keyword; they represent alternate entry points to tasks that you might not find easily using the conventional navigation. Here, let me give you an example. The image below shows two side-by-side lists of tasks. The one on the left is the one in the folder you create using the Control Panel GUID. The one on the right is what you see if you go to Control Panel and type user in the search box.

Nobody loves a pushup, right? They're practically a hallmark of every basic-training Army scene—usually performed by a bunch of soldiers laboring under a brutal drill sergeant and in a torrential downpour. Pushups don't have to be quite so punishing, though, and they're an excellent indicator of your muscular strength.

Men and women will perform this test differently: Men will assume the full-body pushup position, with hands shoulder-width apart, back straight, toes on the ground. Women, meanwhile, will perform a "knees pushup"—identical to the men's in the upper body, but abbreviated below so that their knees are on the ground.

Once the basic set-up is mastered, simply perform as many pushups as possible in two minutes, keeping the back straight and lowering the body until the chin touches the ground. Don’t let the stomach touch, though. On the way up, be sure to completely straighten the arms—bending them so that only half a pushup is performed is not allowed.

Once the two minutes are up, you’ll want to record your score and see how you’ve done. It’s a bit complex, as age and gender affect the evaluation.

Malaysia and the stolen Indonesian culture

AT FIRST I thought it was a slow news day. When a news programme was broadcasting an item titled “Indonesian culture robbed by Malaysia”, I watched it in mute mode, admiring scenes of Chinese girls eating laksa and going shopping, in another Malaysia tourism video.

The next day, the stealing claim seemed justified. The stolen culture in question was the Pendet dance from Bali, which in no way would reach Malaysia through shared Malayan culture or through Javanese and Bugis migrants.

Until today, voices condemning Malaysia are still being aired, with professors and political scientists saying Malaysia has no indigenous culture and thus has some sort of inferiority complex, and thus is stealing Indonesian culture.

Furthermore, many learned Indonesians sneer at Malaysia’s tourism slogan, “Truly Asia”, saying that it’s nonsense and proves that Malaysia has no true identity.

This newspaper, however, pointed out that “Truly Asia” means that Malaysia is a one-stop destination for tourists wishing to see Southeast Asian, Chinese and Indian cultures.

Some Indonesian condemners may still be unaware of Malaysia’s multiple-ethnicities, while others may deliberately ignore it and feel more comfortable with the view that Malaysia is a Malay nation.

As for the Pendet case, it turns out the video was made by a private production house that just copied and pasted several fun tourism images, without any intention of malice.

I found proof about the “Truly Asia” slogan on my arrival at Kuala Lumpur: The taxi got lost and I couldn’t get through to my friend’s phone – at sunrise on an empty suburban road. I tried to ask for directions from several strangers.

The first one were an elderly Chinese couple who didn’t speak English or Malay.

The second were a couple of Indian garbage men who spoke broken English. The Malay taxi driver preferred to talk in English as our Malay dialects were incomprehensible to each other.

Finally he got the address from a Malay youth. I found the house in time for breakfast, ready to feast on wonderful Malaysian food, such as laksa and nasi lemak, and drinks like teh tarik and susu bandung.

Many Indonesians in Malaysia must consume an unfunny old joke. In the courtyard before the Petronas Tower one night, my host said we should avoid the dark spots otherwise we could be robbed by “your countrymen”.

This newspaper had received some complaints from Malaysians that said the Indonesian media and people never talked about the violent crimes carried out by Indonesians in Malaysia.

We retaliated by pointing out that Noordin Mohammad Top is a Malaysian national, and some have even gone so far to suggest that he was planted by the Malaysian government to ruin the Indonesian tourism industry.

In fact, there is no culture war and no tourism war between Malaysia and Indonesia. Malaysia’s biggest rival in attracting tourists is Singapore, and thus Malaysia’s promos offer similar things that Singapore offers – vibrant nightlife, glorious food, Formula 1 racing and great shopping experiences.

Do our tourism promos cover those things? Malaysians count Singapore as their dreadful rival, and hardly think of Indonesia, which is on a different class.

Indonesia’s hatred for Malaysia has been around since the 1960s, probably earlier. Malaysia is the political opposite of Indonesia. It had good relations with its British coloniser, it is a federation, a parliamentary monarchy, and it is never interested in socialism.

After peace returned with the creation of the Asean bloc, both governments tried to convince the people that Indonesians and Malaysians were brothers of the same stock.

This effort held until the 21st century, when Malaysian economic progress left Indonesian behind, and more learned Indonesians are embracing Sukarno-style zero-sum nationalism.

The real story is still the same after 40 years – distract one’s woes by creating and hating a foreign enemy.

As often stressed by other writers, some cultural items that we have claimed were “robbed” by Malaysia are not exclusively Indonesian.

Batik is a common throughout Southeast Asia, and a top batik brand wrote in its coffee table book that batik had been influenced for centuries by Chinese, Indian, Arabic, European and Japanese designs.

Musical instruments like the angklung and gamelan are also common throughout South East Asia.

Wayang is hardly Indonesian – the hide puppets originated from mainland South East Asia, and there are similar storytelling arts in China, Japan and Europe. When Miss Indonesia dressed as Srikandi, she dressed as a Hindu – and Indian – character still revered religiously in India and Malaysia.

As for the disputed isles, I think it’s ridiculous if white collar men in Jakarta could get upset reading the news about Ambalat, and yet the next minute they are making backstabbing remarks about fellow Indonesians from outside Java.

Disputed territories are hardly unique – Japanese and Koreans fight over a rock and on the naming of the sea between their nation and Cambodia had an anti-Thai riot because of a temple located nearby the modern borderlines.

We claim Malaysia has an inferiority complex, and yet the problem is our own. Of course, Malaysia is guilty of ignorance and laziness in making its tourism commercials, but it’s pointless and confusing to dwell on one objectionable frame and continue to fuss about it.

We accuse Malaysia of disrespecting us because deep inside we feel that our supposed “brother” has left us behind with its decent standard of living, global brands (eg Air Asia, Maxis, Petronas and Michelle Yeoh) and good investment reputation.

Russians have had similar problems with former USSR states, and Chinese netizens have grudges with the Japanese and Americans.

In all three cases, past history is always offered for justification of hatred, as we’re closing in to 2010. But Malaysia is also having similar internal strife.

As its Chinese and Indian populations become more politically involved, harassment and foul plays also increase.

Malaysian politicians have become increasingly comical and ridiculous in acting as defenders of Muslims and Malays, and its political and religious freedoms are far below Indonesia.

Flying the Indonesian flag on your product and wallpaper, while condemning Malaysia on your Twitter and T-shirt, won’t solve anything.

Malaysia never thinks about those tourism commercials and they know that Noordin Mohammad Top is a Malaysian hiding in Indonesia because he couldn’t survive in Malaysia.

We can accept that the crime rate in Indonesia is high – so it makes sense that many Indonesians in Malaysia are involved in violent crimes.

If you want more tourists to visit Indonesia, stop sending the message that you dislike foreigners. If you want Pertamina to become a global brand like Petronas, and to have Formula One held in Indonesia, study and follow their steps. If you find an item on the Internet demeaning Indonesia, ignore it and move on with your own priorities.

Malaysia's 'McCurry' beats McDonald's in trademark saga

Malaysia's highest court ruled Tuesday against US fast food giant McDonald's, which has waged an eight-year battle to prevent local eatery "McCurry" from using the prefix "Mc" in its name.

"It is the end of the road for McDonald's. McCurry can use the prefix," said lawyer Sri Dev Nair who represented the family-owned restaurant, which serves up Malaysian favourites like tandoori chicken and fish masala.

"McCurry and McDonald's are two different businesses which sell different types of food and they have different customers," he said, rejecting McDonald's claim that the use of "Mc" in its name could cause confusion.

In April, McCurry scored a David-and-Goliath victory when the appeals court overturned a 2006 high court decision that McCurry had illegally infringed on the burger chain's trademark.

McDonald's on Tuesday sought permission from the federal court to contest the appeals court decision, but judges denied the application and said the burger chain's petition was "not properly framed".

"It is unfortunate we have to dismiss the application with costs," said Judge Arifin Zakaria, who headed the three-member panel. Costs amounted to 10,000 ringgit (2,845 US dollars).

"Justice has been served. The food that we serve is very different from McDonald's," said McCurry owner Kanaeges Suppiah.

"We have no similarities with them at all. That's what we have felt all this while and that's why we could go on until this stage," she told reporters.

McDonald's counsel declined to comment, saying they had to brief their client first.

"We abide by the court's decision," lawyer Wong Sai Fong said.

The McCurry restaurant, which the owners say is short for Malaysian Chicken Curry Restaurant, was established in 1999. McDonald's has 185 outlets in Malaysia, the first of which it opened in 1982.

Happy Tree Friends

Happy Tree Friends is a Flash cartoon series by Mondo Mini Shows, created by Rhode Montijo, Kenn Navarro, Warren Graff, and Aubrey Ankrum. The show has become a popular internet phenomenon since its debut and has also won a cult following.

As indicated on the official site, it is "not recommended for small children". While the violence of these deaths is comparable to that of The Itchy & Scratchy Show (the short cartoon featured on The Simpsons), the portrayal of death in Happy Tree Friends is usually more graphic and anatomically correct, depicting bloodshed and dismemberment in more vivid and often exaggerated detail.

The show is nearly free of dialogue; however, when the characters do speak, their words are severely garbled. Though it is obvious what each character's reaction is, their words can hardly be understood at all. According to the website, the idea for Happy Tree Friends was conceived by Rhode Montijo when he drew a yellow rabbit slightly resembling the character Cuddles on a piece of paper and wrote "Resistance is futile" underneath it.

Main charaters in HTF

This is a list of fictional characters from Happy Tree Friends. There are 20 main characters, and some other supporting characters. Recently, the creators of Happy Tree Friends announced that there will be more than one character added to Happy Tree Friends in the near future. Only one of them is planned to be in the show permanently.

Cuddles
Cuddles (Kenn Navarro) is a yellow rabbit with pinkish cheeks who inexplicably wears pink rabbit slippers. His fur is SPF 90 to minimize exposure to the sun. Cuddles is one of the four primary characters in the series.

Both his white fluffy curly hair tuft and cotton tail look exactly the same. His long ears move to match how he feels; for example, if he is happy, they stay up, and when his feelings are hurt, they drop. He is beta-carotene intolerant. It is also shown he has a collection of antique electric toothbrushes.

Cuddles' personality is somewhat mixed. On one hand, he is dangerously mischievous and self-centered, which often leads to both his death and other characters' deaths. On the other hand, he is friendly and caring, making his personality more complex than the others. He was seen to have multiple houses, but his official one is known to be a Hollow Tree, as it is the only one to appear more than once.

He is particularly good friends with Toothy, Petunia, Flippy, Sniffles, Flaky and Lumpy. Cuddles and Giggles are also very close friends, and it has been hinted several times they have crushes on each other. Their love relationship is most prominent in the Fall Out Boy music video "The Carpal Tunnel of Love", which featured Happy Tree Friends characters.

A Cuddles icon appeared in an episode of the Flash internet cartoon The God & Devil Show on God's keys.

Cro-Marmot
Cro-Marmot is a marmot frozen in a block of ice. He is somehow able to perform many tasks off screen while entirely encased in ice, such as throwing snowballs, somewhat akin to how Handy can perform construction and other tasks without any visible hands. To keep himself frozen, Cro-Marmot stays mainly in cold areas, and sometimes drives an ice cream truck. He lives in a giant glassed Dome or more likely a big snow globe, or rather a small igloo inside a giant snow globe. His hobbies include serving people ice cream, snowboarding, and surfing. He rarely dies in the series, the reason being that the ice he's usually encased in protects him from disaster, thereby rendering him almost invulnerable to most unfortunate events.

The only episode in which he is not frozen is "Dino-Sore Days", as it occurred during the prehistoric times when he was unfrozen. Cro-Marmot usually appears in the series as a background character, and has hardly any showcase appearances. In a featurette of the "Second Serving" DVD, he was interviewed, and it was revealed he's an accomplished writer, painter, and pianist, and he has his own brand of foot powder, known for his loud antics and energetic performances, and has been called the "sexiest Happy Tree Friend" in 1992. The first part of his name is depicted from the word, Cro-Magnon.

Even though he only made a cameo in the episode, "Tongue Twister Trouble", it was actually his official debut in the series, making him the only HTF character to have a debut episode where he wasn't a starring character.

Cub
Cub (Ellen Connell) is Pop's son. He has the appearance and personality of a baby but the intelligence and mobility of a young child. He's the youngest and smallest character of the Happy Tree Friends and his eyes, which are unlike those of the other characters, give him a more infantile appearance, but despite these traits, he still dies and gets injured.

He has appeared and died much more in the series than his father and his deaths are usually a result of Pop's bad parenting. If his father's not paying attention to him, he will often be seen wandering around operating machines by himself or carelessly drifting into death-introducing hazards.

Disco Bear
Disco Bear (Peter Herrman) is a bear with an orange afro and sideburns who likes to dance to disco music. He wears 1970s style clothing, including a yellow jacket, yellow bell-bottom pants and orange and white dancing platform shoes. He usually puts everyone around him into life-threatening trouble while dancing, but mistakes their movements of pain for funky dance moves. He is mostly seen either showing off or trying to impress female characters, such as Giggles and Petunia, and usually killing them in the process. Despite his failures in wooing the ladies, he seems to be well off financially as he is seen with a private ski cabin, his fancy home (which looks like a bachelor pad decorated with the 1970s era furniture, modern art paintings, a heart-shaped bed, a hotel-like bathroom, and packs of romantic candles), a hot tub, a luxury car (resembling a Pontiac Trans Am), a hairspraying-dryer chair and his own submarine.

Disco Bear also has poor eating habits, eating hot dogs, bacon and other fatty foods, and moaning over vegetables. Because of this, he gains weight, losing self-esteem, not being able to run a lot, and having heart diseases. Besides disco dancing, he's talented at roller skating, downhill skiing, and throwing frisbees long distances.

Flaky
Flaky (Nica Lorber) is a porcupine whose quills are full of dandruff. She is one of the most popular characters in the series and has the identifiable personality of being a very shy and timid character ever since she had a traumatic childhood event.

Flaky has often been viewed as a coward. However, Flaky's actions in both the Internet shorts and the TV series go against this as she has been brave and on several occasions had saved her own life several times. Additionally, when hanging around with other characters, Flaky is often forcefully dragged into situations that lead to their demises, despite her warning them about possible dangers that could occur. Her deaths tend to involve either getting skinned or eaten.

Flaky is not only overly cautious, but also one of the more intelligent and kind characters of the series. However, she has, on occasion, been seen as somewhat unstable herself. She is also allergic to peanuts. When she consumes a peanut, her face gets covered in pimples, her lips swell up, and she inflates like a balloon.

Flaky's gender has been the matter of some debate, although it has been repeatedly confirmed to be female by the show's creators.

Flippy
Flippy (Kenn Navarro, Aubrey Ankrum) is a bear with dog tags and a green beret with checkered crest, and camo shirt. There is evidence to suggest that he fought in the Vietnam War. According to writer Warren Graff, Flippy is mostly based on John Rambo (which is apparent to the fact that Flippy kills most of the characters with a knife resembling the bowie knife that Rambo uses as well as traps similar to those seen in the films). He rarely appears in the series, most likely due to his repetitive behavior in most of the episodes in which he appears. He lives in an overturned log resembling a Quonset hut, a structure used by the U.S. Armed Forces. Flippy is trained hand-to-hand combat, and has never been seen using guns to kill other characters. Flippy has a severe case of post traumatic stress disorder. During the war, he was exposed to a chemical known as Agent Orange. Whenever he sees or hears something that he associates with violence or that reminds him of war (e.g., ketchup, gunshot-like sounds, sharp objects, airplanes or crackling campfires), he goes insane, becomes extremely aggressive and kills everyone around him, because of his evil side. While insane, his eyes turn a different color, his voice changes, and his teeth become sharp. He first developed this aggressive change after facing a life and death state while hiding in the dead body of one of his friends as shown in one of his War Journals.

Although Flippy can be the most cruel and dangerous character in Happy Tree Friends, his good side is considered to be one of the most sociable and kindest of characters. This is proven in several episodes where he is seen doing social activities with some of the other characters such as going to the movies and playing hide and seek. In most of the episodes where he appears, he is shown as friendly and social before he goes crazy, or as many people say "flipping-out." After he "flips-out", he does not remember the bloody rampage that follows afterwards. In "Double Whammy", he finally realizes his problem and goes to Lumpy the psychiatrist for answers. He then removes his 'evil' side, but is immediately killed by a chicken truck.

So far, Flippy has killed every character, with the possible exceptions of Splendid and Cro-Marmot. His own confirmed deaths were all caused by machinery.

Giggles
Giggles (Ellen Connell) is a chipmunk who has a white diamond-shaped marking, a white oval pouch, and wears a big red bow on her head. Giggles is one of the primary characters of the series along with Cuddles, Toothy, and Lumpy. She has the personality of a young girl, as she enjoys frolicking through flowers, having tea parties with friends, ice skating, and having a shy and sweet demeanor. Her name comes from her habit of giggling often. She has a white oval on her forepouch.

Giggles is a very affectionate character and is often seen hugging and kissing several of the characters. She is particularly close to Cuddles whom she has a crush on as hinted in several episodes, and in Fall Out Boy's "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" music video where for the first time their romantic relationship was really explored.

She is best friends with Petunia. The two run a lemonade stand together. Though Giggles' deaths aren't usually as gruesome as Petunia's, she appears and dies more often.

Giggles is also very environmental and going so far as to chain herself to a tree to prevent Lumpy from cutting it down. When she sees someone polluting the environment, she'll lose her temper and yell at them.

Handy
Handy (Warren Graff) is a beaver with unexplained amputated arms that are covered with bandages. Handy is a construction worker and wears a tool belt and a hard hat (the typical dress of most construction workers). His dam mostly consists of tools that are operated by hand.

Despite his lack of hands, he is still capable of building many things big or small, though he is never actually seen building it in the first place - it is usually off-screen. However, whenever he tries to do something onscreen which would usually require hands, he fails and pulls his trademark frustrated look, indicating that he forgot that he didn't have hands. Usually when he finds a compromise, it leads to his own death and sometimes the death of others.

In the TV series, Handy has gained an interest in flying. From the episode, "In a Jam", it became apparent that he has photosensitive epilepsy, the flashing lights triggering a seizure as his eyes go ascrew, he jitters, and he foams at the mouth.

Lumpy
Lumpy (David Winn) is a moose with clean teeth pranging out of his mouth, bright disorbited eyes and mismatched antlers. Lumpy is one of the four primary characters in the series. His low intelligence is often the cause of other characters' deaths, and sometimes his own.

He is the only one of the characters with a standard nose with two nostrils (smaller Happy Tree Friends have heart-shaped Care Bears-styled noses). Lumpy has appeared in the most episodes out of all the other Tree Friends. There were some arguments about him being too close to Bullwinkle and "Montgomery Moose", the leader of The Get-Along Gang, so his right antler was drawn upside down. He is a hillbilly judging by his voice, his lifestyle, and the clothes he wears. Lumpy has had many occupations in many episodes, including a teacher, ticket clerk, bus driver, convenience store owner, police officer, doctor, firefighter, magician and more. He is usually a fill-in character, and often shown in tremendously incongruous situations, such as lounging lazily in a hammock, while the rest of the gang are playing in the snow.

He lives in a trashy trailer and drives a Lincoln Continental. His favorite foods are cheese and sandwiches, his favorite dessert is cheesecake, and that he likes to talk to lettuce. A rock on Mars was named after him.

Mime
Mime is a deer with a painted face who wears a black and white striped shirt. Because he is a mime artist, others have a hard time understanding him. Most of his possessions are imaginary yet can be stolen. It has been said that he's mute. He is talented with circus skills like juggling and creating balloon animals. His attempts to entertain his fellow Happy Tree Friends often have fatal consequences. Mime is also very fond of peanuts, going so far as to stick his hand in a blender to eat them. It has been argued whether Mime is a girl, however it can be seen that he is a male considering he has antlers.

Mime could be portrayed as a juvenile deer judging by the size of his antlers. He lives in a tent, on which the inside looks like a regular house. He dies quick and painless deaths more than any other character.

The Mole
The Mole is a blind mole with the stereotypical "blind man" appearance of dark glasses and turtleneck. On his face, The Mole actually has a mole. Like Mime and Cro-Marmot, he doesn't speak. He is not deaf, though he does have hearing problems. Disaster follows his blind bumbling. He seems to love stuffed animals. His actions and character are that much like those of Mr. Magoo. In several instances, he mistakes body parts such as severed heads for other things. He doesn't appear to have his driver's license revoked, since he has been seen driving. His driving abilities are clearly not safe for his surroundings, but he has actually been seen stopping at a red light.

According to the commentary for "Pitchin' Impossible", the Mole was originally supposed to be a James Bond-like secret agent with all kinds of spy gadgets around him but it was removed when the series was created. It wasn't until the episode, Mole in the City, that his secret agent identity was explored. He also has an arch-nemesis known as The Rat, most likely because they both have careers in industrial espionage.

A running gag in the series is The Mole doing things that require vision such as stopping at a red light, lighting a match to see in the dark, and even reading a book. He usually has jobs that require good vision which, in most episodes, leads up to his and other characters deaths.

In the web shorts, The Mole rarely dies because one producer's daughter is blind and they didn't want to offend her or any blind person, and usually causes harm to the other HTF due to his blindness. He dies a lot more often in the TV series.

Nutty
Nutty (Michael "Lippy" Lipman) is a squirrel with a yellow diamond shaped marking on his head and an addiction for candy or anything that contains sugar. He has a big swirly lollipop, a candy cane, a small all-day sucker, and a candy apple stuck to his fur, which he even treats as his wardrobe. One of his eyes resembles googly eyes and the other bears a slight resemblance to Flippy's 'flipped-out' eyes. It is apparent that his googly eye is an amblyopia, or lazy eye, as it is almost always looking down and drops down whenever he looks somewhere else. Nutty is rarely seen not smiling.

As a result of his huge sugar intake he is often hyperactive and jittery, and giggles more than he talks; He even giggles occasionally when he is dying. The only time he has ever been heard speaking was when he wished for a scrumptious lollipop in "As You Wish". It has been proven that even the slightest amount of sugar will set him off. Nutty foams at the mouth when deprived of candy or any other sugar-related item and he will do whatever it takes to get the sugar he wants, even if it involves stealing the candy from them, ignoring his friends', or even his own fatal injuries. If he doesn't get what he wants, he becomes very irate. He seems to lack common sense, which is evidenced in many episodes. Nutty appears to be slightly insane, as he thinks anything brightly colored is candy. His room is very messy and he has a bed with legs resembling candy canes, but instead of the bed, he sleeps in a bunch of candy wrappers on the floor.

Most of his deaths are caused by his obsession of candy, but he usually dies of being split apart or shredded

Petunia
Petunia (Ellen Connell) is a skunk with a light blue arrow marking on her forehead, which is connected to the triangle shaped marking on her back. She wears a pink flower on top of her head and a pine scent deodorizer around her neck and a white pouch (even though it says on the website that she bathes many times a day), Petunia is rarely seen without her flower or deodorizer. While Giggles is childlike, Petunia acts more mature, though she still likes to play with her dolls and often has tea parties. She also seems to enjoy cooking. Petunia also seems to have a drinking habit in the series. She drinks a lot of juice which causes her bladder to go unstable at certain times. Petunia's deaths are mostly caused by household items, like sinks.

Petunia is often seen in the series with Giggles. They appear to be best friends and run a lemonade stand together. In the Internet series, they were almost identical in personality. However, whilst Giggles has appeared and died more in the series than Petunia, Petunia's deaths are the most gruesome in the series. Many fans refer to her as one of the most unfortunate characters because of this. Like Giggles, her head is usually involved in her deaths. She is also the only main character of the series who has not directly caused the death of any other character so far.

Petunia has obsessive compulsive disorder. More specifically, she is a "neat freak". She takes showers five times a day, and if things are either dirty, or out of their proper place, she starts to hyperventilate and tries to do anything to clean it up again.

Pop
Pop (Aubrey Ankrum) is a bear with a red beret. Some people refer to him as the stereotypically clueless, bathrobe-wearing, pipe-smoking, 1950s style sitcom father. His son Cub often dies as a result of both his attention and inattention - although it is clear that he loves him. He is not very bright and when he tries to save his son, he often kills him and sometimes himself, too. The only time Pop killed Cub intentionally was in the episode "Read 'em and Weep", because Cub was possessed by a demon (despite the fact that Lumpy had already exorcised the demon from Cub).

Pop is one of the few characters in the show who has a much more intelligible way of speaking. He almost speaks clear words in some of the episodes he appears in. He can even read a book with an understanding vocabulary.

There is evidence that Pop may very well be a widower, due to the fact that in the episode "Can't Stop Coffin", he and Cub are seen mourning at a gravestone which probably belongs to his dead wife.

Russell
Russell (Francis Carr) is a sea otter with typical pirate accessories like a Jolly Roger's hat, a striped red/white shirt, a hook, an eyepatch and two wooden peglegs. He enjoys fishing, sailing and eating seafood, one of his animal instincts, especially mussels, which was why he was named Russell. He also likes kite flying and even runs his own fast-food restaurant (Mime to Five). Russell's initial character design depicted him with a five o'clock shadow, though since his early appearances, it seems as though he shaves regularly. Typically, his vocabulary consists mostly of "Yar", 'Aha!' and 'Huh?'. It is evident that Russell's legs are partially amputated. He lives in a big pirate ship shaped treehouse and sleeps on a purple hammock. Because Russell spends most of his time in the water, he is rarely seen with the other characters. His deaths usually involve getting impaled.

Shifty & Lifty
Shifty & Lifty (Kenn Navarro) are identical twin raccoon brothers. They frequently steal merchandise from the other Happy Tree Friends, as well as hunt for treasure, ransack houses, or do anything to get rich quick. They have the same markings, bushy tails, personality and almost identical voices. It is unknown which of them is older. Despite the smirks on their faces and their kleptomania, they almost always end up perishing in the process. Their green color implies money and greed, relating to their 'criminal duo' personalities. They also have a trademark evil snicker. Like most siblings, Lifty and Shifty argue about who's to blame when a problem emerges, but when trouble's afoot, they work together. Both twins are greedy and sometimes resort to seeing their twin die rather than give up their loot or be caught. Their greed can also lead to their deaths. These kleptomaniac raccoons have the lowest survival rate of any Happy Tree Friend. Their deaths also usually involve them either mashed together or sliced apart. Lifty & Shifty have, on occasion, made money by themselves without stealing, such as selling dogs who get crazy when they hear whistling, selling bottles of hair growth formula to Disco Bear, and selling candy and a video game console to Nutty.

Sniffles
Sniffles (Liz Stuart) is an anteater who is one of the most intelligent characters in the series. He usually likes reading and doing science and math problems. To reinforce the 'nerd' image that Sniffles exudes, he carries pens in a pocket protector on his chest, has tape on his nerdy glasses, and has been seen dressed up as a Star Trek character.

Sniffles' IQ has proved to be extremely high in both the Internet and TV series. He has built things which are far more advanced than what most of the other characters could create, including a rocket from a bus and even a time machine. However, sometimes these devices malfunction and work against him, leading to his own death. Like Toothy, he has a wide range of deaths, usually involving his tongue, head, limbs, or organs. Sniffles also has a craving for ants, which is one of his animal instincts. Whenever he tries to eat one, however, they kill him, after torturing him in the most sadistic of manners.

Splendid
Splendid (David Winn) is a flying squirrel. He is largely based on Superman, being able to fly at extreme speeds, shoot laser beams from his eyes, has super strength, supersonic hearing, can turn back time and can breathe ice. His appearance is somewhat based on Rocky from Rocky & Bullwinkle.

The irony of Splendid being a superhero is that he often unintentionally kills the characters he rescues. This is usually either because of his ignorance or his own powers. Most of the time, he is oblivious to the other characters' deaths. He often flies away without checking to see if they are actually safe. He believes that being a superhero is a pain in the neck.

His only confirmed death was in the TV episode Gems the Breaks where he was overexposed to his one and only superhero weakness: Kryptonut, which looks like a green glowing acorn, except it is made out of rock - a reference to Kryptonite. Not only will the Kryptonut make him lose his powers, but it will also make him vomit continuously and give him the stomach flu.

Toothy
Toothy (Warren Graff) is a beaver with very large gapped teeth and freckles. He is one of the four primary characters in the series. He is generally a very friendly character. Toothy was also Flippy's first victim in both the online shorts and TV series.

Toothy is the first character to be killed ever in Happy Tree Friends and he is also the character who suffered a very long and painful death in the episode that won an award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, the infamous "Eye Candy".

He can be used in wider range of situations, unlike most of the other characters whose various personalities define how they might act in a given situation. He mostly acts before he thinks though he is by no means addle-brained.

Linux vs. Mac OS X vs. Windows

LINUX
Light on its feet and ready to strut its stuff
Let's get the unpleasant part out of the way first: If running Adobe Premiere is the most important thing in your life, or you want to play Halo, Linux isn't going to do it for you, at least right at the moment. While most Windows software can run under Linux in one fashion or another, applications that make extensive use of hardware drivers or high-end graphics may not work right.

But for everything else, Linux is definitely the way to go.

Unlike Mac OS and Windows, Linux is free as air and open to development by folks who are motivated by the desire to make the technology better, rather than by corporate tech farms whose real interest is the bottom line. Which is all very nice, but is it any good as a desktop operating system? You bet.

Size and speed
Let's start with the hardware footprint: With the possible exception of BSD, Linux's 'sister,' Linux is the lightest thing you'll ever install on your computer. While the minimum required hardware for Windows has been bloating, and Macs need more and more horsepower to run OS X, you can still dig out your old 486 and fire up Linux without problems.

I recently got one of the One Laptop Per Child XOs -- a machine with 256MB of RAM and a power-miserly processor -- and had no trouble running Xubuntu Linux on it. Meanwhile, Windows XP needs to be sliced and diced like crazy to fit onto the same hardware.

It's not for nothing that you'll find Linux inside of devices where hardware cost is an issue, like DVRs (TiVo anyone?) and routers. I was somewhat shocked to find that my recently purchased 52-in. LCD TV has a Linux kernel inside of it. If you hunt around, I'll bet you'll find at least one device in your home running Linux.

Stability, security, transparency, flexibility
Linux is not only small, but it's also stable. I have several Windows boxes at home, and it seems like whenever I blink, something has gotten screwed up in the registry or I have a Dynamic Link Library conflict.

Linux has all the configuration data and libraries right out where you can see them, in files. You can see what's changed and make edits manually, without having to figure out which of 9 million HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry entries is the one you want. Even the system-configuration tools that have nice graphical user interfaces (GUI) end up generating human-readable and editable files at the end of the day.

In the recent "Pwn 2 Own" hacker challenge, computers running Mac OS X and Windows Vista were cracked, but the Linux machine wasn't. I won't claim that Linux has no security or virus problems, but they tend to be right out in the open where you can see them if you look. At the moment, there are far fewer Linux viruses out in the wild than Windows viruses, and there are fairly bullet-proof ways to detect viruses under Linux using checksums on files.

Conversely, it's much easier to move your Linux system to new hardware or clone an existing system because there's no licensing. I've never had a problem moving a Linux system disk to a new computer, even when the hardware was drastically different. There's basically no way to do this on either a Windows or a Mac system.

You also have your choice of Linux distributions, from geek-friendly Debian and end-user-friendly Ubuntu to business-friendly Red Hat and Novell SUSE. And no matter which one you pick, you can rest assured that they'll all run the same apps.

Applications and interface
It used to be the conventional wisdom that the problem with Linux was desktop applications. But with tools such as Wine, CrossOver Linux and VMWare Player, many Windows applications run just fine under Linux these days.

And in some cases, native Linux applications may serve you just as well. OpenOffice is a mature replacement for Microsoft Office, and there are good (and free) tools for video and photo editing, audio editing, and many other common applications. Just do a quick Google search for "Linux video editing," for example, and you'll see what I mean.

More importantly, more and more applications are transitioning to Web-based versions using JavaScript or Flash/Silverlight/Flex/Air. Who cares if you can't run TurboTax on Linux, when you can use the Web-based TurboTax right from your browser?

Finally, the Linux desktop experience is now the match of any other desktop GUI in existence. The user interface is intuitive and clean, but still powerful. If you choose a user-friendly distribution like Ubuntu, installing Linux is as easy as installing Windows -- and unlike Windows, you can even "try before you buy," since distributions such as Ubuntu have a "live" install CD/DVD.

You can even run a full Linux distribution such as Damn Small Linux from a 128MB (or larger) USB drive. Did your Windows PC crash again? Plug in the USB drive, and you've got access.

Heck, most Linux distributions will even shrink a Windows partition and set up dual-booting automatically. Ignore all the fear, uncertainty and doubt you'll hear about nightmare installs and bad device support -- that's from the bad old days!

Mac OS X
All you need in one dynamite package
Computing nirvana isn't difficult to find. If you want a simple-to-use computer that can run virtually any application you need on stylish hardware that gives you easy online access and instant connectivity to all types of satellite devices, just go to an Apple store and buy a Macintosh.

A complete software/hardware ecosystem
When it comes to integration, no other operating system can boast the unity of purpose and results that exist on the Mac platform. While the competition is busy mashing feature after feature into poorly designed products, Apple Inc. focuses on what's important: creating a software/hardware ecosystem that gets out of the way so you can do what you bought a computer to do -- work, make movies, build Web sites, communicate or crunch data.

You know what I'm taking about -- all those annoying little things that add up when using Windows. Plug in a mouse on a PC, and a little dialog box pops up exclaiming that it just sensed you plugged in a mouse, and after installing the driver, it's ready to go! This isn't a shuttle launch; I just plugged in a mouse. I'll know the operating system recognizes it as soon as I can move the pointer, so stop bugging me with alert boxes!

Apple's relentless attention to detail has created a world where hardware and software are equally polished -- so polished, in fact, that a wireless mouse, an iPod or an iPhone feels more like a natural extension of the Mac than a separate device.

For those still stuck with Windows, that kind of experience remains a mirage, always just over the horizon. With Vista, users get an operating system that comes in six -- six! -- different versions, all of them with driver issues. Many older PCs can't handle the operating system -- and even a lot of those newer "Vista Capable" machines may not be so capable after all.

Sure, you could try Linux. But the kind of integration I'm talking about isn't possible in Windows, never mind Linux. When software and hardware engineering and design are divvied up among multiple companies and communities -- each with its own agenda -- complete hardware/software unification is just not a realistic expectation. (I'll give devotees an A+ for effort, though.)

Elegance and ease of use
The glue that binds the hardware is the operating system, and Mac OS X 10.5, a.k.a. Leopard, has elegance and ease of use baked right in. Leopard easily leads the pack in terms of security, ease of installation, maintenance and integration of applications whose learning curves are so minimal Apple doesn't even bother with full manuals. That isn't an accident.

Let me just reel off a few Mac OS X advantages:

* Drag-and-drop application installs
* Notifications written in real English and not Geek-English
* One-click, set-and-forget automatic backups that people actually use
* The ability to peer inside files without having to launch an app
* Tech support that doesn't involve being bounced between different companies
* Inherent security with no real-world exploits, despite dire warnings every year
* A clean and consistent look throughout the operating system and applications

Run any application in the world
Other operating systems have their strengths. Windows is ubiquitous; it isn't going anywhere soon. And the collective hive of developers working to make Linux better is impressive. But Apple's switch to the Intel architecture, along with today's impressive virtualization software, means Macs can now run those other operating systems -- at full speed. That gives you access to software across all three platforms, letting you work and play without walling yourself off from the rest of the computer world.

Let me say it again: All Macs can run Windows and, consequently, all of the software that runs on Windows. All versions. At once, if you want to.

Did I mention that Leopard is a certified Unix product, too? Mac OS X is the only operating systems that can run all mainstream Windows and "*nix"-based operating systems -- and host "*nix" software natively -- with few of the usual security risks.
Security

Along with its famed user interface, one of the keys to the success of Mac OS X is the lack of malware, spyware and self-propagating viruses. We can debate the reasons -- whether it's the security inherent to the modern BSD underpinnings of Apple's code or the "security by obscurity" theory -- but Macs are not susceptible to the problems that have always plagued Windows PCs.

Let me put it in perspective: I have been working with Macs since 1993, and not a single second of downtime has been caused by a virus, spyware or malware. Think about that for a moment. Not a single second has been wasted dealing with security.

And ponder this: If 100,000 viruses or malware variations targeting OS X sprang up tomorrow, that number would still pale in comparison with the malware aimed at Windows every year.

Look, it's the 21st century. Computers are everywhere; shouldn't they just work by now? Who wants to spend their time running spyware scans and virus scans? (Imagine having to run a virus scan on a microwave or DVD player.) Just because folks who use other operating systems have to put up with it doesn't mean that's the way it has to be.

Window vista
The best there is (despite the bad rep)

If you want the best operating system available today, there is only one choice: Windows Vista.

You heard me right: Vista, the operating system that people love to hate. The system that has been blamed, it seems, for everything from global warming to the U.S. economic meltdown.

I'm here to tell you that the conventional wisdom is flat-out wrong. Vista is a solid, hard-working operating system that will run whatever software you need with simplicity and grace. And it doesn't suffer from the world of woes that affect its competitors.
Interface, tweakability and extras

Why is Vista the best operating system? The interface is a good place to start. Vista has a straightforward elegance, featuring transparent windows that niftily whoosh into and out of place when you minimize or maximize them.

Don't like the way Vista looks or works? No problem; change it. From the transparency of windows down to almost every level of the operating system, there's a way to customize it. And there's plenty of free and cheap software for further tweaking.

Vista's user interface is more than just a pretty face. Windows Flip 3-D, which shows you all of your open windows in a 3-D flip book, is exceptionally useful. So are Live Thumbnails, which show small thumbnails of what's happening in your minimized windows, including real-time video.

The integration of search into every level of the OS, including the Start menu and Windows Explorer, makes finding any information easy and fast. All your documents, files and communications are instantly indexed, and searching is lightning-fast. And it integrates with Microsoft Office applications, so that when you search in Outlook for e-mail, for example, you're using the Vista search tool, and you get near instantaneous results.

Vista also includes some very nice extras, such as gadgets for the Sidebar; the Sync Center, which makes it easy to keep data on multiple PCs in sync; and easy wireless networking.

Best choice of software
An operating system by itself is a lonely thing ... in fact, a worthless thing. Its true purpose is to let you run software for work, play or hobbies.

Do you need to run enterprise software at work? Don't try it with Mac OS X or Linux -- most likely they won't work. How about games? Again, Windows rules. There simply aren't nearly as many games that run on the Mac or Linux. The same holds true for many other kinds of software.

Now, it's true that for the moment, Windows XP is superior to Vista when it comes to software compatibility. But that won't last long. The best and newest software will be built for Vista, not XP. So if you want to look to the future, not the past, Vista is the way to go.

Security
With its built-in firewall, antispyware and antiphishing features, Windows Vista is far safer than XP. Making it even more secure are its under-the-hood features such as Window Service Hardening, which stops malicious activity from taking place in the file system, the Registry and the network to which the PC is attached. Similarly, Network Access Protection (NAP) stops an infected computer from making a connection to a network, ensuring that it can't infect other PCs.

Much has been made of the fact that Windows has been subject to more attacks than Mac OS X or Linux. That's not necessarily due to inherent Windows security problems, though. It's simply because there are so many more copies of Windows in existence, so malware writers target it.

Why it beats the competition
Why is Vista better than the Mac OS X, Linux and XP? Let's start with the Mac. There's no doubt that Mac OS X is a very pretty operating system. But it also runs only on expensive, proprietary hardware, and it can't run much common software, including enterprise applications and games.

Some people claim virtualization software like Parallels Desktop for Mac solves that problem, but it's not true. Virtualization software creates big problems for organizations with regard to volume licensing, technical support, creating standard enterprisewide images and so on. And as for games, consider this: Parallels can't run even the most basic Vista games such as FreeCell, Hearts, Pinball, Solitaire and Minesweeper, because it doesn't support DirectX 9.

So if you want to pay through the nose for a computer that can run only a limited number of apps and games, go ahead and throw away your money. Just keep in mind that you'll be putting money into the coffers of a company whose CEO has hypnotized its users into drinking the true-believer Kool Aid. I could go on and on, listing articles about tests showing that XP is faster than Vista at some tasks, explaining to anxious users how to make XP last for seven more years and instructing frustrated Vista users how to downgrade from Vista. See a common thread there?

Security has always been the favorite criticism of Microsoft operating systems in general, but Service Pack 2 vastly improved the safety of XP, with better network protection, memory protection, improved e-mail security and safer browsing.

And do you really think Mac OS and Linux will be any safer if they gain enough market share to become relevant and get the full attention of hackers?

Of course, Microsoft will eventually force the migration to Vista. But for right now, you will get several Vista features, such as Network Access Protection, in the upcoming XP Service Pack 3. Other Vista components available for XP include Media Center, Internet Explorer 7, Media Player 11 and Windows Defender.

And there are plenty of sites that tell you how to get or at least simulate other Vista features in XP.

Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. Those symptoms can also be caused by many other conditions, and that means that you and your doctor can't know, just based on your symptoms, if you've got swine flu. It takes a lab test to tell whether it's swine flu or some other condition.

If I think I have swine flu, what should I do? When should I see my doctor?
If you have flu symptoms, stay home, and when you cough or sneeze, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue. Afterward, throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands. That will help prevent your flu from spreading.

If you've got flu symptoms, and you've recently been to a high-risk area like Mexico, CDC officials recommend that you see your doctor. If you have flu symptoms but you haven't been in a high-risk area, you can still see a doctor -- that's your call.

Malaysia Has H1N1 Vaccine For Swine Flu

KUALA LUMPUR, April 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia has the vaccine for swine flu which can be used to stop the spread of the disease to this country.

Veterinary Services director-general Datuk Dr Abd Aziz Jamaluddin said the H1N1 vaccine should be injected into pigs as a preventive measure following reports of 81 people killed by the swine flu in Mexico.

He told Bernama that the department was only waiting for the directive from the Health Ministry to carry out vaccination on the livestock.

He believed that the H1N1 vaccine was also used by pig farms in other countries as a preventive measure against swine flu.

Dr Abd Aziz also disclosed that Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai had issued a directive to all State Veterinary Services directors to monitor pig farms in their respective states as a precaution and to report on any sign of swine flu infection.

"Stern action will be taken against them if they fail to do this. They must also ensure that all the pig breeders follow instructions like their workers must wear masks," he said.

Dr Abd Aziz said state livestock breeders' associations were required to cooperate with the Veterinary Services Department by reporting on any symptom of swine flu.

"If their workers have similar symptoms for influenza, high fever, sore throat and body aches, they must be given leave and undergo medical examination immediately."

Dr Abd Aziz said so far the department had not received any report of swine flu symptoms in the country, while the disease also had the potential of being spread to birds but the possibility was remote.

"If avian flu can spread through food like by eating chicken, swine flu cannot be spread by eating pork but through human contact," he said.

Milo is a milk beverage with chocolate and malt, produced by Nestlé and originating from Australia. It was developed by Thomas Mayne in 1934. Milo is also manufactured in other countries, including Malaysia (accounting for 90% of worldwide consumption of Milo ), Singapore, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, New Zealand, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Chile, Colombia, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and Syria. The name derives from the famous Greek athlete Milo of Crotona, after his legendary strength.

Milo is added to hot or cold milk to give it a malted chocolate flavour and extra texture. When combined with cold milk, it retains the gritty texture of its raw state. Milo can be stirred into steamed milk or hot water to create something similar to hot chocolate or cocoa. Sugar can be added to the milo beverage, but many people enjoy it without the addition of sweeteners, appreciating it for its subtle chocolate flavour. Another possible use is making a normal cup of cold Milo and microwaving it for approximately 40–60 seconds. This gives the Milo drink a biscuity cover on top.

According to Iban legend, Nabau is a giant snake comparable to the size of a drum and is more than 100 feet in length. The recent sighting of Nabau cruising along the Baleh River in Kapit has some resemblance to the ‘Loch Ness’ monster known as Nessie in Scotland. Judging by the photographs taken of Nabau, could the two animals of a similar breed?

Before going into the Nabau story, let me give the readers some information on the Loch Ness monster. It was first sighted by St. Columba in 565AD when he and his followers crossed the loch (lake) and since then it has been sighted now and then. The last sighting was reported on 17 June 1998. Many have described it just like a log, then up-turned boat or a large object with long tail.

On 30 November 1989, George Edwards discovered what looked like the hiding place of the monster in a depth of 812 feet of the loch. So many people including scientists have conducted a search for the elusive monster. One American, Robert Rines, now aged 85, has spent 37 years searching for the animal.

Now back to our Nabau, a member of the disaster relief committee, Sibu on 31 January 2009 was monitoring the flood situation in Ulu Rajang in a helicopter when he saw a monster that looked like a big snake cruising along the river. He took photographs of the monster at 5.30 pm at one of the Sungai Baleh tributaries from the helicopter.

According to Chuat Radin, the monster was Nabau, a python-type of snake, a much bigger in size and much longer in length. Among the Iban folk tales, super Nabau is like a “petara” (god) which has super natural powers. Seeing it alone will bring luck to the man. Its scales used by Iban as “pangkor” which give super strength, someone like the incredible Hulk.

Nabau has also been seen at Stambak Ulu and Ili in Betong and else where in Sarawak. In Africa and Sri Lanka this type of snake is known as ‘anaconda’.

There were tales among the Ibans in Kapit that when Temenggong Koh, Datuk Kenneth Kanyan’s father passed away in 1950s, he became a Nabau and used to appear in dreams. Koh was one of the pioneering Ibans who migrated to Entawau during the Brooke regime. As he was knowledgeable in Iban Adat and had the respect of the Brooke regime, he was made a Temenggong, the paramount chief of the Ibans.

But does Nabau really exist in Sarawak? And is the one seen at Sungai Baleh a Nabau or not?

Thus search and research should be conducted now by individuals or by those in authority such as the Sarawak Museum and the Ministry of Tourism to determine the existence of this huge creature.

Like in Scotland, where once a year Nessie festival is being organised, the authority in Kapit perhaps can organise such a festival. For what you know, the Nabau story can now become the star attraction as well as bringing more luck to Kapit such as in the form of development and road construction which the people have been asking for in the past 45 years.

Conflicker C April Fools Day Trojan

Most of you have heard about the Conflicker C virus that is expected to be released on April Fools Day. This gets me to wonder is this a deadly virus that will actually destroy our computers or is this an April Fools Day joke? The problem is
that we do not really know and therefore are we prepared to take the chance that Conflicker C is just a joke?

What is Conflicker C?
Conflicker C is a worm (Trojan) that first surfaced in October 2008. It is also known as Kido, downup and downadup. Conflicker C specifically targets the Microsoft operating system. Conflicker C looks for vulnerability in the window server for Windows, 2000, Windows 2003, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 Beta, Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta, and Windows Vista. The worm is set to go off on April Fools Day and it is believed to be powerful force. It also protects itself by blocking your access to anti virus protection websites.

What will Conflicker C do to a computer?
The worm will find the vulnerability in these systems and spreads through the infected computer by carrying out an embedded code that will pass through one computer to another (RPC request). The group of infected computers is called a botnet, and once the creators of Conflicker C have the botnet in place, Conflicker C will cause havac to all of them.

The Conflicker C worm will then disable or shutdown different Microsoft operations such as Windows Automatic Update, Windows Security Center, Windows defender and Windows Error Reporting. Conflicker C can also attach itself to sychost.exe, explorer.exe and services exe. Conflicker C will connect to a server and can upload information from your computer and install various malware files.

It will launch attacks on various websites and send out though unsolicited emails we all have received at one time or another.

It will reverse computer reset points
Prevent restart in save mode
Allow access for worms through shareware
Slow your system down
Disable various functions on your computer
Disallow access to security and antivirus websites

How much damage has been caused so far?
The Conflicker C virus has already infected a million computers and can reach up to the estimate of 9 to 15 millions computers before it runs its course. The experts say it is the worst virus since SQL Slammer.

Thirty percent of computers do not have the windows patch that was released in 2006 that prevent the infiltration of this worm virus.

The virus is not just a threat to home computers government departments are infected too. The U.K. Ministry of defense reported having infected desk tops computers in their administration buildings and aboard the navy warships while 800 computers in the city of Sheffield are said to be infected as well.

By February 1, 2009, the schools in Rochester England were said to be infected. The Conflicker C virus continued to spread and infiltrated the British House of Commons.

What further damage is expected from Conflicker C?
According to Snopes, on April 1, each infected computer in the botnet will call home and ask for conflicker C instructions. Some people speculate that a big catastrophe will occur, with millions of computers down and the Internet disabled similar to the predictions of the infamous Y2K. The fact is nobody really knows what will happen, we have to watch and find out.

Dean Turner of Symantec Security says he doubts there will be substantial cyber disaster. More than likely the internet will not go down, the makers of Conflicker C are profit driven and need the computers in the botnet to make money for them by sending out spam emails and so on. Paul Ferguson of researcher for Trend Micro, concurs. He says these people, "don't want to bring down the infrastructure. That would not allow them to continue to carry out their scams."

What is being done about Conflicker C?
According to Wikipedia Microsoft is offering a $250,000 reward for any information leading to the conviction of the creators of Conflicker C.

How to repair the damage done by Conflicker C
There is a repair patch that will that can be found at Microsoft, BitDefender, Eset, Symantec, MaAfee, and AVG. However for people with computers that are using older models Windows XP service pack 1 or earlier, you are out of luck there is no patch because your support period from Microsoft has expired.

Are there what seems like hundreds of monkeys screaming all different things in you ear, none of which are good thoughts? Do you think that you can't talk to members of the opposite sex because you're shy? You need to stop listening to all of this negative talk in your head. Be aware of when your perception about a situation comes solely from these negative thoughts in your head, and then consciously choose to ignore them.
